South Africa’s mobile phone operator Cell C is losing its chief financial officer (CFO) Tyrone Soondarjee, who joined the company a year ago.
Soondarjee announced his departure on Thursday afternoon during a Blue Label conference call to deal with requests for further explanation of elements of Cell C’s historic financial disclosure.
He has tendered his resignation and will leave the mobile phone operator by the end of May.
Soondarjee joined Cell C in June 2017 from Sasfin Group, where he was a financial director since 2010.
His decade of distinguished service at the business started in 2007, when he was appointed as the group’s chief financial officer.
Throughout his tenure, Soondarjee served on several boards within the Sasfin Group.
