Telkom has successfully implemented a major upgrade to its Business Support Systems (BSS), reinforcing its commitment to delivering frictionless digital experiences for customers. This milestone marks a key step in Telkom’s ongoing transformation, enhancing efficiency, service delivery and customer relationship management.

BSS handle customer services, billing and products efficiently. They make operations smoother, improve customer satisfaction, and help companies adapt to market needs, keeping users happy and loyal.

Telkom Consumer embarked on a BSS upgrade project to address operational risks. The upgrade will ensure a secure BSS solution with increased stability and fewer outages.

These enhancements are designed to boost operational efficiency, support business growth and improve customer relationship management.

The upgraded BSS offers a comprehensive suite of telecommunications and IT solutions, empowering businesses of all size

“We are pleased with the progress of our BSS upgrade, which is already enhancing service efficiency,” Telkom told TechFinancials.

“However, as with any large-scale technological transition, we have encountered intermittent challenges affecting service delivery. Our team is actively resolving these issues in collaboration with partners and customers.”

Commitment to Customer Excellence

Telkom expressed gratitude to its customers and partners for their patience during this transition.

“We sincerely appreciate your trust as we work to stabilise the system and unlock its full potential. Our focus remains on delivering superior customer experiences and swiftly addressing any disruptions.”

With this upgrade, Telkom reinforces its position as a leader in digital innovation, ensuring businesses benefit from smoother, more efficient operations.

The project to upgrade BSS is set to be completed by the end of full year 2025.

For Telkom, a BSS upgrade isn’t just about technology, it’s a strategic move to improve service, efficiency and innovation. By modernising these systems, Telkom can secure its position as a leader in South Africa’s telecom sector while delivering better value to customers.
