FNB eBucks Teams With Pick n Pay For Grocery And Fashion Discount

FNB and Pick n Pay are teaming up to deliver exciting new rewards for South African shoppers, aiming to help customers save more on groceries, clothing, and everyday essentials.

Starting 1 November, FNB Private Clients, Private Wealth, and RMB Private Bank eBucks members can earn up to 30% back in eBucks on purchases made through Pick n Pay’s asap! delivery app – the highest earn rate for on-demand services. Additionally, members can get up to 20% back on all in-store purchases at Pick n Pay.

For the first time, Pick n Pay Clothing is also included, with Aspire members earning up to R150 back in eBucks, while higher-tier cardholders can earn up to 20% back.

From 1 November, all FNB cardholders on the eBucks program will be able to use their eBucks at Pick n Pay stores.

“This partnership represents the next step in our ongoing journey to help South Africans get more value from their everyday spending,” says Sizwe Nxedlana, CEO of FNB Private Segment. “Pick n Pay is an iconic South African brand, and we’re excited to partner with them to make life a little easier for our customers while supporting Pick n Pay’s growth strategy.”

The partnership soft-launched with a 99c bread offering aimed at FNB’s entry-level clients. Through this deal, FNB Easy Bundle and PAYU account holders can buy up to four loaves each month at just 99c per loaf by swiping their FNB Easy Debit Card at Pick n Pay—helping ease the cost of living for those who need it most. A grocery voucher for FNB Easy cardholders also went live on 1 November.

Pick n Pay CEO Sean Summers calls the partnership a “game-changer” for both the brand and its customers. “Joining forces with FNB is a powerful statement about our shared values and commitment to providing real value to consumers,” he says. “We are already seeing strong redemption rates from the 99c bread promotion, and we’re thrilled to extend more rewards to eBucks’ six million active customers.”

According to Nxedlana, the partnership builds on FNB eBucks’ goal to give customers valuable rewards across a diverse network of retail partners.

“Whether buying groceries, liquor, or clothing in-store or via asap! delivery, this partnership means South Africans can save even more and make their household budgets go further each month.”

Nxedlana also notes that the partnership is based on understanding customer needs and spending habits.

“FNB customers who earn between R750,000 and R1.4 million per year spend 40% more on online grocery deliveries than in-store, which drove our decision to offer up to 30% back on asap! purchases. We realize the importance of convenience, and this additional saving will support FNB and Pick n Pay customers alike.”

Customers will still earn rewards from Pick n Pay’s Smart Shopper programme, which provides instant savings and cashback points on every swipe. Recently, the program introduced the Live Well Club, which gives extra discounts on healthier foods

“Adding eBucks rewards shows our commitment to enhancing our offer for customers,” Summers adds.

This collaboration between FNB eBucks and Pick n Pay is set to redefine rewards for South African shoppers, addressing their evolving needs and offering tangible value to make life more affordable.
