If you want to compare tech companies’ stats on your website in a way that your visitor can easily digest the information, visuals are of vital importance. Of course, you can add tons of boring text, but don’t be surprised if it goes unnoticed. Well-built websites implement graphs, charts, tables, etc. to make comparisons. However, not all comparison charts are easy on the eye.

The last thing you will want to do is overload your page with boring text or poorly presented charts and tables. It should fit in with your site’s current design and be easy for your visitor to follow. By doing so, the visitor will be able to digest the information almost instantly. There are plenty of ways you can implement this data on a page, but some methods work better than others.

Tips For Making a Comparison Page

Understanding the right way of making a comparison page, or a comparison section on one of your site’s pages will save you time and effort. First, by placing the different tech companies’ stats side by side, it will make it easy for the reader to compare the stats. Your audience will be able to grasp the information on display instantly. They will be able to see the differences and the similarities between the tech companies without having to spend a long time reading through the text.

By displaying the information through visuals and charts that are easy to follow, your audience will be encouraged to spend more time on your website. This will help with your site’s ranking on major search engines, plus, it will help your site’s overall reputation.

Can I Make Charts and Tables with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel?

One of the easiest methods of creating a range of different charts and tables for your site is by using Google Spreadsheets or Microsoft Excel. These applications are extremely easy to use, and there are plenty of tutorials on how to make different charts on websites and free streaming services like YouTube. Once you’ve finished, you can take a screenshot of the page, and upload the image to your site, it’s that simple.

Although making tables and charts with these applications is straightforward, it’s unlikely that they will look good on your site. If you want to maintain a professional site, you will want to go down a different road. Plus, every time you need to make changes to the information in the charts and tables, you will need to take the screenshot again and upload it to the site every single time which isn’t convenient for most website owners.

Are There Plugins Available?

If you want to go the extra mile, there are several plugins available that will help you create lots of great-looking dynamic charts and tables. You can easily find a WordPress table plugin that makes creating, editing, and publishing a WordPress table or a charta walk in the park. There are lots of plugins that don’t require any coding whatsoever, so anyone working for your site will be able to make changes with ease. Some even have a ‘Drag and Drop” option, which makes the process extremely easy. Making a comparison table with a reputable WordPress plugin will help bring your website to the next level. Many plugins have pre-built comparison tables, so you can get the job done in a short space of time.

What Should I Look For in a WordPress Plugin To Build Comparison Tables?

If you search for WordPress Plugins online, you’ll find a lot of different options available. Keep in mind that not all plugins do the same thing. Building a comparison table without using the right plugin can cause a lot of frustration, so you will want to read the different features and functions before investing your hard-earned money in a new plugin. Here are some of the features and functions you should look out for:

  • Does it have a “drag and drop” interface?: A ‘drag and drop’ interface will allow the user to drag elements onto their comparison table. This will help speed up the table-building process. As soon as you drag the element on the table, it’s ready to go!
  • Does the plugin have pre-built comparison tables?: If time isn’t on your side, you will want to create comparison tables in minutes. This is why a plugin with pre-built tables will make your life a lot easier. The best plugins available will have lots of beautiful pre-built comparison tables available.
  • Is it responsive: Web designers are well aware that a lot of their audience will visit their site with a mobile device. You will want to make sure that the table you create is mobile responsive. The plugin has to have the ability to alter the cell stack direction so that it looks good on various mobile devices.

There are several plugin trial versions available, so consider installing a few until you find one that you feel comfortable with.
