The African Telecommunications Union (ATU) has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with tech giant Huawei that will see African countries and organizations build capacity for ICT transformation. Huawei has awarded bursaries worth R2.76-million to 17 University of Cape Town (UCT) undergraduate and post-grad students as part of its ICT skills development programme in South Africa. Former Telkom chairman and businessman Jabu Mabuza has passed away. His family said in a statement that he passed away on Wednesday, South Africa’s Youth Day, following COVID-19 complications.
