The Metatrader 4 is a powerful platform and is used by millions around the world. It is rich in features and tools that make your trading a lot easier, and if those are not enough, you can always add more tools to it. MT4 comes in various versions including the mobile, desktop, tablet, and web versions. Let’s take a look at some of the key differences between them.

MT4 for desktop

The MT4 desktop is probably the most renowned version of the application. It is easy to download from a trusted broker, using the mt4 download for pc button. and it is by far the most standard version that contains everything that the platform has to offer. This includes the known technical indicators like the moving averages, relative strength index, MACD, Bollinger bands, and many others, as well as drawing tools and graphical objects.

For those who want to automate their trading, the desktop version offers valuable tools. Those include the ability to add expert advisors and back test strategies. You can even optimize your automated strategies with the help of the strategy tester for better performance.

In addition, the platform has tools that help you jump start your trading journey like the ability to save templates and apply them to other charts, which is particularly useful when you want to use the same technical indicators on every chart.

All in all, MT4 for desktop is a great platform to use, and it is arguably the most superior one on the market today.

MT4 for mobile

The mobile version of MT4 is a compact version, given that it needs to fit in a smaller screen. It offers several benefits such as the ability to view charts, use technical indicators, read the news, and open, monitor, and close positions.

Despite this, the platform does not offer the full benefits of the MT4 platform as it cannot be used to test strategies or install expert advisors. Its main advantages are its flexibility and ability to help you monitor your positions, even if you are not sitting in your office or behind your computer all the time.

MT4 for tablet

The MT4 for tablet version is quite similar to the mobile version, but it offers the advantage of bigger screen real estate, which helps you analyze markets much more easily than on a mobile phone.

Like the mobile version, the tablet version cannot be used to test strategies or add custom indicators. It is still quite useful and easy to use, however, and it makes your trading an enjoyable experience.

MT4 web trader

The biggest advantage with the MT4 web trader version is that you do not need to install it before using it. You can use it on most internet browsers like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Often it saves your settings from the last visit, and it can be opened on any computer. As such, it is also handy when you move a lot and trade on different computers.

However, like the tablet and mobile versions, it is somewhat limited in the features it offers, as it does not enable the user to add custom indicators and test strategies. That being said, it offers all the main tools like technical indicators and drawing tools, among others.

Summary

The MT4 for desktop platform contains all of the benefits associated with this software, and thus it should be preferred by traders. However, it is less portable than the other versions which are suitable for a more dynamic lifestyle. For the best outcome, you can use all of the above mentioned versions on the same account, enjoying all of the advantages provided.
