MTN is planning network maintenance and upgrades in parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
“MTN wishes to inform its customers in the Durban and Port Shepstone areas about a planned network maintenance and upgrade on Tuesday, 20 February 2018 which may result in customers experiencing intermittent voice and data connectivity disruption between 1am and 2am the following morning,” the mobile phone operator said in a statement on Tuesday.
“MTN sincerely apologises to its customers for any inconvenience the brief network disruption may cause.”
Last December, MTN SA announced that it will boost its network capacity in tourist hotspots and expand coverage in rural areas.
The mobile phone operator recently said that its capital expenditure programme meant its 3G network would cover 98% of the country’s population by the end of 2017, while its 4G network would cater for 73% of the population, up from 43% in early 2016.
