The Vuma Fibre has started rolling out its high-speed fibre network in the southern areas of Johannesburg.
The company is already rolling out its fibre network in Bassonia, Glenanda, Glenvista and Mulburton.
As the demand for superfast broadband increases, Vumatel plans to extend the build to the rest of Johannesburg South and surrounding suburbs.
Vumatel is building its open access fibre network in partnership with the community and connect every home, complex and apartment block to super-fast world-class fibre broadband.
The fibre provider will also connect every certified Primary and High school passed when deploying the network to free 1Gbps fibre broadband.
“We are thrilled to be introducing VUMA Fibre to Johannesburg South, not only because of the sheer excitement expressed by the residents of the South but mainly because of the opportunities that the high-speed fibre network presents for local entrepreneurs, schools, gamers as well as the security conscious” – Jason Grobler, Vumatel business development manager.
Vumatel Fibre also promised to give every resident the opportunity to transform the way they experience the internet in the comfort of their homes. Every home will have access to over 250 internet packages available from almost 20 different Internet Service Providers.
Vuma Fibre joins Seacom, which also started last month to roll out of 8 kilometres of fibre in Meyersdal and Alberton.
Seacom said in a statement that the last-mile fibre network will pass several businesses, residential developments, and shopping malls in the Johannesburg South area.
