SA’s retailer The Foschini Group turns to online games to lure more customers

The Foschini Group (TFG) have developed Super Stan, a fun interactive online 8bit game ahead of the TFG Shop Hop – an exclusive online super sale day.  By Staff Writer

Super Stan, inspired by the Nintendo megahit Super Mario Bros, was created to educate customers around the breadth and depth of the TFG eMall, in the run up to its Shop Hop sale day, which will showcase the many stores and products.

The aim of the game is to navigate Stan on a mission to grab as much merchandise from as many stores as he can. Evil shopping trollleys have to be avoided, and jumping the queue at the end completes the game.

As incentive to play, shoppers can win prizes ranging from tech to online gift vouchers upon completion of the game.

The Shop Hop sale takes place on Friday, 9 September, and shoppers can access substantial discounts across multiple stores in the TFG eMall, with checkout taking place in one bag.

A further incentive to cross-shop – if shoppers add products from three or more different stores to their cart, they are entered into another prize draw to win Nespresso coffee machines or Samsung smart phones.

The TFG eMall now hosts 11 linked stores, with Foschini For Beauty – TFG’s cosmetic retail site – joining this week.

Online stores taking part in the Shop Hop include @home, Duesouth, Duesouth Escapes, Fabiani, hi, Markham, Relay Jeans, Sportscene, and Totalsports.

Making shopping at the TFG eMall as democratic as possible, all store account cardholders can use their store cards, as well as credit cards to make purchases. SnapScan and eGift cards as alternative payment solutions will be added soon.
