DFA has achieved MEF 3.0 certification for its Magellan Access EPL service which is an E-Access Ethernet Private Line managed-service offering. This follows a rigorous process of testing and ratifying that the product has met the highest and most advanced network-performance, -assurance, and -agility standards.
DFA CTO, Andreas Uys, says that DFA is pleased about the certification which sets its service apart from the multitude of low-margin, fixed-bandwidth services in the market and places it in a leading position among local providers for adherence to global industry practice. ‘This certification demonstrates performance excellence and enables us to establish a standards-compliant presence in the world of automated networks,’ says Uys.
Developed over three decades, the MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet certification is considered the gold standard for carrier networks. It is administered by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), the world’s defining authority for standardized network services. The non-profit standards body consists of network, cloud, and technology providers who award certification to products or services that meet its stringent criteria.
‘With this certification, both DFA and its customers can be confident in their ability to provide higher-quality services with proven capability to address the demanding connectivity needs of accelerated digital transformation initiatives,’ continues Uys.
‘It not only demonstrates the great advances in our technical capability but also represents a milestone in our digital transformation strategy as a whole,’ he concludes.
