One year ago, Salesforce launched Missionforce, its agentic platform for government that brings trusted AI, data, apps, and cloud technology to the government’s most critical missions. Since then, public sector has become Salesforce’s fastest-growing industry business at scale, with its defense sector business growing 80% year over year as demand accelerates. Today, Salesforce supports some of the government’s most complex and consequential missions across more than 30 countries, 60 U.S. federal agencies, all 15 U.S. Cabinet departments, all 50 states, and all six branches of the U.S. military.
Salesforce was also named a Leader in the 2026 IDC MarketScape for National Civilian Government AI-Enabled Case Management.
Salesforce has worked with government customers for more than two decades, and today, agencies are under enormous pressure to modernize while still maintaining high service standards, protecting sensitive information, and remaining accountable.
“One year in, the momentum behind Missionforce shows how quickly government agencies are moving from AI ambition to operational deployment,” said Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce & Government Cloud. “Our defense business is a critically important part of that progress, with trusted data and actionable intelligence essential to readiness and mission success. With new capabilities and partnerships, we’re helping agencies equip their people and put AI to work — with the security, accountability, and control their most critical missions demand.”
Growing adoption across the government’s most critical missions
From citizen services and agency modernization to military readiness and national security, government organizations have massively expanded their use of Salesforce over the past year:
- U.S. Army: The Army awarded Salesforce a 10-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a $5.6 billion ceiling to expand Missionforce National Security across the Army and Department of War, helping accelerate procurement, connect fragmented systems and data, and improve operational readiness.
- U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC): Army HRC selected Missionforce National Security to deploy AI-powered HR support for 9.2 million soldiers, veterans, civilian staff, and military families. Agentforce will provide 24/7 assistance within Salesforce’s IL5-authorized environment, while HRC specialists retain authority over sensitive decisions.
- U.S. Air Force 441st Vehicle Support Chain Operations Squadron (VSCOS): The 441st VSCOS deployed Missionforce National Security to modernize sustainment and operations for its $13.5 billion fleet of over 84,000 vehicles across nearly 389 global locations, replacing a legacy system prone to multiday outages with a single, always-on mission execution platform — achieving zero mission downtime for the roughly 7,300 personnel who depend on it.
- U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT): USDOT is expanding its agencywide modernization with Missionforce, including unifying more than 10 systems on one platform and deploying Agentforce to support citizen services, grantmaking, and transportation safety.
- Transportation Security Administration (TSA): TSA deployed Ace, an AI agent built on Public Sector Solutions, to help travelers navigate airport security. Ace now handles approximately 100,000 traveler conversations each month, resolves 96% of routine inquiries without human escalation, and has reduced the cost of consumer interactions by more than 90%.
