DStv, the market leader in South African entertainment, has partnered with Discovery Bank as part of its Discovery Miles rewards programme.
“Partnering with Discovery to give our customers such great value is an obvious choice,” says Willington Ngwepe, CEO of MultiChoice, the broadcasting services licensee in South Africa.
“DStv customers who bank with Discovery can earn up to 50% of their DStv package payment back in Discovery Miles, while they tune in for our world-class content line-up, which includes the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in June.”
This comes after DStv announced its lowest-ever HD Single View decoder deals as part of its “Everything can wait” FIFA World Cup 2026™ campaign: R299 for the decoder only or R499 including installation. DStv Stream is available from R99 p/m.
Hylton Kallner, CEO of Discovery Bank, says: “Our partnership with DStv is a natural extension of how we’re expanding our rewards ecosystem to reflect our clients’ everyday lives. Entertainment is a meaningful part of how people spend and connect, and by bringing DStv into our network, we’re able to reward clients for this in a way that is simple, seamless and valuable. It also reflects our broader strategy of partnering with category leading brands like MultiChoice to deliver more personalised, relevant rewards that enhance the overall banking experience.”
While waiting for the tournament kick-off, with the opening match set between local football heroes Bafana Bafana and hosts Mexico City on 11 June, DStv customers have plenty to keep them entertained. This includes the launch of a new addition to the Real Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island; as well as Power Book III: Raising Kanan S4; true-crime drama Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy; Hidden Gems: South Africa featuring local travel influencers, and World War II by Tom Hanks. Viewers can also look forward to an epic battle on field, with Pirates and Sundowns in a showdown in the Betway Premiership, and Arsenal and Man City fighting it out in the Premier League in the closing weeks of the season.
“We want this to be the most accessible World Cup ever,” says Ngwepe, “so that Africa’s football fans can come together as a mighty supporters’ club and watch our ten qualifying African teams fight for their place in history on the world’s biggest stage, broadcast across the continent on DStv.”
DStv customers with a DStv package or DStv Stream subscription will earn up to 50% back in Discovery Miles when paying by debit order or card from a qualifying Discovery Bank account. This is a special offer and is available until the end of June 2026.
