In line with the EX30’s futuristic design and focus on disrupting the electric car market, Thea and Lasizwe proved to be the perfect fit as EX30 Champions.

Volvo Car South Africa is excited to welcome Lasizwe Dambuza and Thea Booysen to the Volvo family as EX30 Champions in celebration of Volvo’s most affordable electric car, the EX30.

Multi-award-winning YouTuber and reality TV star Lasizwe Dambuza has over recent years seen his star rise in the South African social media landscape. At the same time, his hit show Awkward Dates has proven popular among his fans.

Currently studying towards her Masters in neuropsychology, author and Twitch streamer Thea Booysen has made a name for herself in the ESports industry, including co-owning an ESports team.

“With Thea and Lasizwe building their brands, they are leading youthful voices of today – who champion sustainability and innovation – both aspects aligning with the ethos of the EX30,” says Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director at Volvo Car South Africa.

Like these creatives shaking up things in their respective fields, the Volvo EX30 plans to disrupt the electric vehicle industry with its futuristic design, being fully electric, and affordable without compromising safety standards and performance with an impressive 0 – 100km/h in 3.6 seconds.

Taking its inspiration from nature, the EX30’s interior features a consistent theme of natural and recycled leather-free materials, reimagining a modern, premium experience. Buyers also have the option of personalising their upholstery and colour themes with the four distinct interior-design expressions.

Focussing on future technologies, built-in Google services are included with the car’s next-generation infotainment system. And, you’ll never be left with a low or dead battery, as the EX30 offers several possibilities to connect and charge mobile devices.

With three options to choose from – EX30 Single Motor Core, EX30 Single Motor Extended Range, and EX30 Twin Motor Performance – the latest addition to the Volvo line is affordably priced from R775 900.

Both EX30 Champions will be driving an EX30 Single Motor Extended range.
