Paratus Group, a pan-African telecom and network services provider, reveals strategic initiatives to achieve its goal of doubling revenue within the next five years.
- Providing LEO, MEO and GEO services across the continent
- Completion, in Q4 of 2023, of the new Paratus teleport in South Africa
- Construction of its second teleport in Luanda, Angola to create a Paratus connectivity hub for the region is due for completion in October 2023.
- The building of a fifth Data Center (DC) in Angola will be the largest in that country. Construction will be complete by Q2 of 2024.
- The last leg of the Trans Kalahari Network, with cross border links from Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, and Zambia, will be completed in November 2023.
- Opening of the Paratus fiber superhighway from southern Africa to the world in Q4 of 2023.
- Further expansion focussing on Central and West Africa within the next 3 to 5 years.
- Cementing its presence in the Oil and Gas industry by offering bespoke one-stop communications services for onshore and offshore communications (Paratus exhibited at the Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition in Maputo, Mozambique and Africa Oil Week in Cape Town in September and October respectively).
- Completion in Q1 2024 of the META/Paratus fiber network in Zambia to provide connectivity to 10 towns and cities in that country.
- Consolidating its expansion into the Democratic Republic of Congo with GBS (Global Broadband Solutions
- Establishment of the first cross-border links from anywhere in Mozambique to South Africa and beyond.
- Further strengthening of its landing of the Equiano subsea cable in Namibia with open services to provide 20 times more capacity in the region.
- Overall, providing a seamless connectivity service for its customers anywhere on the continent backed by round-the-clock support by trained technicians and experts.
Among the group’s achievements already are that:
- It has built and runs its own network infrastructure; has operating companies in seven southern African countries with satellite connectivity in a further 35 countries on the continent
- It has points of presence (PoPs) in the US, the UK and Europe; and has built and runs four internationally accredited Data Centers in three African countries.
