Standard Bank has launched a service status page to keep customers up to date about the status of banking services and offerings, following the extended disruption to banking services. Yesterday, the bank said it had identified a hardware issue that impacted its Mobile App, Internet Banking and ATMs. The issue has now been resolved and services across all banking channels are now fully restored. We apologise for the frustration that such disruptions cause you, the bank said on Twitter.
Standard Bank said today it has launched a new service status page to give you real-time status of our banking services and offerings. The free opt-in-based website is designed to keep customers informed about the status of services and availability of certain banking features.
“We developed this page in the interest of transparency and customer service. We always endeavour to ensure that our systems are up and running at all times, but technology is fallible,” says Standard Bank SA CEO Lungisa Fuzile.
“With this tool, we are able to keep our customers informed while our teams work to fix any issues that might occur. Importantly, information is displayed in real time as it relates to problems or recovery status.”
Communication of any issues is immediate. Customers can register for updates with their email address or mobile number.
“We acknowledge that the disruption of our services this past weekend impacted our customers adversely. While our teams worked tirelessly to solve the problem, our clients expect our services to be available and accessible 24/7. Despite any momentary setbacks we encounter, we will do whatever it takes to deliver on this promise. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused,” Fuzile says.
The service status page is in line with international best practice and subscribing is easy. Simply cut and paste the following link into your web browser, https://statuspage.standardbank.co.za/#. Customers can choose to receive system status updates via SMS or EMail
