The re-emergence of load shedding across the country has reminded consumers of the need to keep their mobile devices fully charged in the event of unexpected power cuts. In order to help consumers stay ‘powered up’, Samsung Electronics South Africa presents the external battery pack – a small but effective device which can be used to top-up any Samsung smartphone, wearable or tablet battery.

Samsung’s battery packs are the ultimate accessory, ensuring that communication and entertainment don’t go off when the lights do. The stylish designs and compact sizes also make these products an essential portable accessory to carry while on-the-go as well as in the home.

“At Samsung our aim is to provide technology to make customers’ lives easier,” says Craige Fleischer, Director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa. “We understand the need for simple solutions which answer to real-life problems and with the external battery packs, we are doing exactly that.”

The battery packs come in various sizes, all of which are equipped with user-friendly LED battery indicator that shows just how much battery life is left in the pack, providing added peace of mind for users. The packs also come with an embedded cable making charging devices even easier than before: by simply taking the cable out, plugging it in and connecting it, customers can conveniently charge their devices.

In addition to the built-in 5 pin charger, users can use an approved Samsung USB charger with the embedded USB port to charge more than one device at a time. In fact, up to 4 devices by using the multi-charging cable – perfect for when both the tablet and smartphone are running low.

The external battery packs are currently available in a variety of battery capacities ranging from 3000 mAh to 11300 mAh. Pricing is dependent on the model and power. RRPs for the battery packs start at R595.

Samsung battery packs are available through Samsung Experience stores, leading retailers and local operators.
