Nkwe Platinum and South Africa Zijin Platinum, a wholly owned subsidiaries of mining company Zijin Mining Group, have joined hands with African telecommunications giant MTN and global ICT provider Huawei together, and signed a collaboration agreement to build the Southern Africa region’s first 5G-enabled smart metal mine. Over the past 24 hours, Eskom experienced protests at nine of its power stations and other operating facilities, by some of its employees who have embarked on unprotected strike action following a deadlock in wage negotiations on Tuesday.
