Vodacom Finally Launches a Phone to Cater for the Needs of Older Users

South Africa’s biggest mobile phone operator Vodacom announced on Thursday it has expanded its range of accessible smartphones for specific needs customers through the launch of the Alcatel 2008G.

The mobile phone operator said the device is designed to make it easier and more suitable for customers who want an affordable smartphone to use predominately for messaging and voice calls.

Specifically, its 2.4 inch display screen and large keyboard makes it ideally suited to the needs of senior citizens who might prefer an easy-to-use phone.

The phone boasts a stylish and compact design for comfortable grip. Other features include:

▪ Emergency button – this allows the customer to pre-programme four numbers that will be automatically dialled when you press the emergency button

▪ Customers can choose different background colours for making reading easier, e.g. black background with white font

▪ Any Key Answer mode

▪ Wireless FM radio

▪ A torch

▪ 2 megapixel camera to capture memories

▪ A charging cradle to make charging easy

▪ Talktime up to 16 hours

▪ 300 SMS capacity

The phone is available at Vodacom shops nationwide for R599 on prepaid.
