The internet has done a whole lot of good for us in the past decade or so. It has enabled us to access information quickly and efficiently. It has helped some people find jobs and has helped others step into contact with estranged friends or family members. Of course, the internet has also done wonders for the entertainment industry.

For example, online casinos are a huge hit, and are expected to grow in the future. For those who don’t know, online casinos are websites that host a ton of digital versions of all the top-name casino games, from slots to blackjack, poker, and more. Some may ask, how do these games work? In this article, we go over the software that makes online casinos run in the 21st century.

Random Number Generator

The Random Number Generator software is at the top of the list. As you can probably guess based on the name alone, an RNG is a software that, when asked, generates a series of numbers, completely at random. You can take a look Casinofy.com, and you will see that every single one of the gambling websites listed there uses a random number generator in their games.

But, what is the purpose of the RNG? Well, each of the numbers generated are tied to a certain outcome in the game that you are playing. The goal is to recreate the probability of the land-based casinos, by using this excellent software. Online casinos have done an excellent job of replicating the random outcomes of land-based roulette, baccarat, blackjack and more.

Streaming Software

Some gamblers are not fully satisfied with digital casinos, however. It isn’t the games that are the problem, but rather the lack of any human contact or interaction. If that is your issue, fear not, as online casinos do have the answer for you; live casinos. Live casinos are exactly what they sound like, casinos where you can play in real time, against a human dealer.

The way online casinos have achieved this is by incorporating streaming software into their websites. It is the same principle that websites like Twitch or YouTube, and even Facebook soon, use to allow their creators to stream in real time. A dealer, croupier, stickman, or whatever else runs a livestream, under heavy supervision. That way, the website ensures that their players are safe and that the games are fair.

Payment Processing Software

The goal of online casinos is to bring to their fans the authentic gambling experience. They simply cannot do that without the ability to process payments on both sides. Meaning, a player would have to be able to make a deposit, as well as a withdrawal. To that end, online casinos are equipped with some of the finest payment processing software out there.

Once upon a time, online casinos could only accept credit cards as a payment method. However, times have changed, and payment software has drastically improved. Nowadays, you can use a number of methods to make payments at online casinos. However, all of them come with pros and cons, and you can read some of them below.

  • Credit Cards: Credit cards are widely accepted at online casinos. They are also secure, and fast-acting, but lack of anonymity and possible fees may be an issue.
  • Bank Transfers: Bank transfers provide secure transactions with high upper limits, however, they also come with an incredibly long processing time puts some people off.
  • Cryptocurrency: The main appeal of using Bitcoin and Ethereum to make transactions is the anonymity and low fees. However, the high rate of volatility is absolutely an issue.
  • Digital Wallets: Paying with digital wallets results in safe and anonymous transactions. However, they also may require you to pay some fees, and casinos may exclude them from some bonuses.

Conclusion

The online gambling industry is thriving. It wouldn’t be surprising if, in the relatively near future, iGaming overtakes its land-based predecessor, in a similar way that sports betting has been dominating online. If that is the case, it is best that gamblers understand how the industry works, and what software is making the games they enjoy so much run.
