Grindrod, a JSE-listed freight logistics company, has announced the appointment of Raymond Ndlovu and Andile Khumalo as independent non-executive directors. This strategic move brings seasoned expertise to the board, enhancing the company’s leadership as it navigates the complexities of the global logistics sector.
Ndlovu and Khumalo’s extensive experience in finance and business will be instrumental in driving Grindrod’s growth and reinforcing its position in the industry.
Ndlovu, who previously served on Grindrod’s board as an alternate director, brings a wealth of leadership experience to his new role as an independent non-executive director.
Currently the Executive Chair of Serendipity Ventures and former Group CEO of Community Investment Ventures,
Ndlovu has also held significant positions at Standard Chartered Merchant Bank, Noah Capital Markets, Invenfin, and Remgro Limited. Beyond his corporate roles, he is a co-founder and owner of Black Elephant Vintners and actively participates on the boards of several community service organisations.
Ndlovu also serves as an independent non-executive director for OUTsurance Group and Investment Managers Group, and chairs AlphaCode Venture Partners.
Khumalo joins Grindrod with an impressive background as a chartered accountant and over 22 years of experience in business and investment.
He began his career at Deloitte before moving to Investec in 2003.
Khumalo has since founded multiple businesses and became a partner at MSG Afrika.
In 2018, he established the investment firm KhumaloCo.
His extensive non-executive roles include membership on the Takeover Regulations Panel and the Directorate of Market Abuse, directorships at South African Airways and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, and serving as President of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa.
Additionally, Khumalo is a non-executive director of Metrofile Limited and Airports Company South Africa SOC Limited.
