It is all systems go for the Mpumalanga Department of Education to officially announce the Grade 12 results of the class of 2023 and hand over a brand new set of wheels to the province’s top performer.
Mpumalanga Education MEC Bonakele Majuba will be presiding over the ceremony at the main campus of the University of Mpumalanga in Mbombela on Friday, (19 January 2024).
Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit) – It is all systems go for the Mpumalanga Department of Education to officially announce the Grade 12 results of the class of 2023 and hand over a brand new set of wheels to the province’s top performer.
Mpumalanga Education MEC Bonakele Majuba will be presiding over the ceremony at the main campus of the University of Mpumalanga in Mbombela on Friday, (19 January 2024).
Mpumalanga education spokesperson, Jasper Zwane, said Thursday: “The MEC will announce the 2023 Grade 12 National Senior Certificate examination results at the University of Mpumalanga from 9 am.”
As part of the Mpumalanga Department of Education’s annual culture, the name of the highest-performing learner in the province – expected to drive away in a brand-new car – will be divulged during the ceremony.
The department said: “The exceptional top learner in the province will not only receive a full bursary but also drive away in a brand new sponsored car with other exciting tokens of appreciation.
“This recognises the transformative power of hard work and dedication, inspiring the current cohort of learners to chase dreams with unwavering commitment.”

The Gauteng Department of e-Government has urged learners who wrote their matric exams last year to use the Matric Results Online System to access their results.
The matric results for the National Senior Certificate exams are expected to be released on Friday, 19 January, while the ministerial announcement on the results will be made on Thursday, 18 January.
The Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, e-Government, Research and Development, Mzi Khumalo, said the system empowers learners.
The department explained that the digital platform provides “easy access to matriculation examination results for learners, parents, and educators alike”.
