Ring is a company on a mission to make families feel safe and allow them to watch over their most prized possessions. Cycling has become a hugely popular hobby in South Africa and more and more consumers are purchasing bikes for their weekend rides. Ring has sleek, smart cameras that allow car and bike enthusiasts to keep watch over their vehicles and garages even when they are not at home.

A popular device used for this function is the Ring Spotlight Cam Battery. Positioned outside your garage, it provides you with a bright light for entering and leaving your garage. This device also has an HD camera, night vision, a remote activated 110-decible alarm and adjustable motion sensors. You receive an instant alert on your phone if the sensors are activated. The product allows you to see, hear and speak to anyone on your property via the Ring app on your phone, tablet or PC. And the good news for load shedding is that it is battery operated.

Another worthwhile addition is the newly launched Ring Alarm. This can be a stand-alone product for anyone looking to add an alarm system to their home or you can add it to your existing ring of security. Add the compact Ring Alarm sensors to your garage, doors and windows. The Ring Alarm keypad allows users to sound the alarm and use the “mode” buttons to set the alarm to either ‘disarmed’, ‘home’, or ‘away’ mode.

Mohammad Meraj Hoda ,Vice President of Business Development, said: “We know how much South Africans enjoy their cycling and cars and we are pleased to be able to offer them a solution to ensure their valuable possessions are kept safe.”

Ring Alarm 5-piece Security Kit is R3,999.00 and includes:

  • Base Station
  • Keypad
  • Contact Sensor (for a window or door)
  • Motion Detector
  • Range Extender

In addition, Ring Spotlight Cam Battery retails at R3 291.00 and includes:

  • USB charging cable
  • Mounting bracket
  • Quick and easy installation user guide
  • Security sticker
  • Installation tools and screws

Pricing and Availability

Ring Alarm is available for purchase via select retailers, including Takealot, Builders Warehouse, eBucks, FNB, Incredible Connection, Loot and Leroy Merlin with pricing starting from R3,999.00 (5-piece kit).
