The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is on a major recruitment drive, targeting to hire 250 new call centre service agents.

On Monday (27 March), the revenue service announced that it was looking to hire vibrant, energetic and driven individuals to join its call centre team who makes customer happiness their mission in life and create awesome moments of their speciality.

SARS is hiring for its offices in Bellville – Cape Town, Durban – KZN, Doringkloof – Centurion or Alberton – Johannesburg.

“With your expertise, help ensure that each taxpayer who deals with us has an exceptional experience,” said SARS.

“As a Service Agent, you will work in a friendly team environment and have to be willing to go the extra mile.

“You will also have the opportunity to teach taxpayers online skills like using the SARS website, EFiling and troubleshooting practical processes and system issues. The best part of this job is that you get to interact with taxpayers from all lifestyles and ensure you make South Africa great.”

SARS said the position requires only a senior certificate, plus two years of experience in a customer service environment.

This much was evident in the agency’s recent notable successes in this regard, the revenue collector said on Thursday.

In a statement, it said: “Using the data from various domestic and international sources, as input into  machine learning models, risk profiling and case selection, a number of trends have already been observed with positive outcomes in a number of instances, some of which were previously reported”.
