Rectron, a South African distributor of IT products, is expanding its cybersecurity solutions with an additional offering from cloud services partner Acronis. Acronis provides end-to-end cyber protection in one platform, which includes preventative protection, backup and disaster recovery.

Rectron partners, who have signed Acronis service provider agreements, will also be able to customise the security service into bespoke packages and billing options as they see fit for their business.

“This past year has accelerated many businesses journey to the cloud while at the same time, there’s increased attacks from cybercriminals targeting remote working situations. With this updated menu of services from Acronis, our resellers can build their own bespoke cybersecurity practice, which offers businesses the benefits of cloud technology with a flexible approach, depending on their budgets and circumstances,” says Elaine Wang, Cloud and Software Solutions Director at Rectron.

Through Acronis Cyber Cloud, service providers and their customers can gain access to hybrid cloud backup, disaster recovery, ransomware protection, file sync and share, and blockchain-based file notarisation and e-signature services, all managed from a centralised console. The platform enables management, maintenance, and billing to be streamlined, and services customisable for a competitive edge.

“We have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Rectron, with our Acronis Cloud Backup as part of the RCT cloud platform portfolio. We’re now excited to continue this evolution of cloud service offerings with our all-in-one cyber protection, which has been built to enable service providers to easily deliver efficient, reliable and secure solutions across data, applications and systems,” says Peter French, General Manager for Middle East and Africa at Acronis.

This new addition from Acronis is part of RCT Cloud, Rectron’s cloud platform that houses the distributor’s cloud and software solutions, as well as Rectron’s professional services. These include access to licenses, assistance with migrations and deployments and after-sales support.
