Switzerland to ban foreign-based gambling sites under the new Gambling Act. At the referendum held on June 10 2018, 72.9 per cent of Swiss voters backed the new gambling law. Consequently, from the beginning of 2019, only Swiss-certified casinos and gambling companies will be allowed to operate in the country. Passed on September 29 2017, the Swiss Money Gaming Act replaces the existing legislation which deals with casino games and betting lotteries. Under the Act, the online gambling ban is abolished.
