State-owned entity Broadband Infraco announced the appoitment of Gift Zowa as acting CEO.
Zowa’s appintment follows the end of term of Andrew Matseke.
Zowa appointment is effective 16 November 2022.
He is a seasoned Executive that is proficient in Telecommunications (Switching, Transmission Mobile (2G, 3G, LTE) and IP), IT, Strategic Management and Business Management.
Zowa holds a BSc Hons in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MBA from the University of Pretoria.
He is a Member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers, a Member of
the Institute of Electrical Engineers (UK) and is registered as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) with ECSA.
Prior to this, Zowa held the position of Chief Technical Officer at Broadband Infraco for a
period of 10 years, having started his career at Siemens Telecommunications before becoming the head of Telecommunications at the state-owned Sentech, designing and running the MyWireless data communication product.
He has also worked for Nokia Siemens Networks as the head of Mobile Broadband for Africa and the Middle East.

Broadband Infraco SOC is a licensed state-owned company in the telecommunications sector intended to improve market efficiency in the long-distance connectivity segment by increasing available long-distance network infrastructure and availing capacity to stimulate private sector innovation in telecommunications services and content offerings.
Broadband Infraco provides long distance national and international connectivity to licensed
private sector partners, license-exempt project of national importance and to previously
underserviced areas.
