OPPO today officially announced the launch of the OPPO A6, a powerful addition to its A6 Series, designed to deliver ultimate endurance, extreme durability and long lasting performance for South Africans who demand more from their devices.
Built to handle demanding routines and unpredictable conditions, the OPPO A6 combines a massive battery, IP69 rated protection and optimised performance into a device that is engineered to go the distance, day after day, year after year. The A6 Series lineup also includes the A6 Pro and A6x, with the A6k set to arrive in South Africa in May, expanding the range to meet different user needs.
“The A6 is built for users who expect their smartphone to keep up without compromise,” says Bradley Young, Head of Retail and Sales at OPPO South Africa.
“It delivers powerful endurance, long term performance and durability that South Africans can rely on in their everyday lives.”

Ultimate endurance that powers through your day

The OPPO A6 is built around one of its most defining features, a massive 7000mAh battery that delivers exceptional endurance for uninterrupted use. Whether streaming, navigating, gaming or staying connected, the device is engineered to go beyond a full day with ease. When it is time to recharge, 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging restores power quickly, minimising downtime and keeping users connected when it matters most. To ensure long term reliability, the A6 battery is designed to retain more than 80 percent of its original capacity after 1,800 charge cycles, supporting up to five years of typical use without compromising performance.

Built for IP69 durability and real world conditions

The OPPO A6 is engineered with IP69 rated protection, delivering one of the highest levels of water and dust resistance available in its class. This ensures the device can withstand high pressure, high temperature water exposure, heavy rain and dusty environments. Combined with a sealed unibody midframe, the A6 is built to handle exposure to multiple types of liquid conditions, giving users confidence in environments where durability matters most.

Smooth performance, optimised for long term use

Powering the OPPO A6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 Mobile Platform, designed to deliver efficient and reliable everyday performance. The device features 8GB of RAM, expandable with an additional 8GB of RAM expansion, allowing for seamless multitasking and improved responsiveness when switching between apps. With 256GB of internal storage, users have ample space for apps, photos, videos and content without compromise. Backed by ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, the A6 is supported by OPPO’s 5 Year Fluency Protection, ensuring the device remains smooth, responsive and reliable over extended use.

Immersive display and everyday visuals

The OPPO A6 features a large 6.75 inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1570 by 720 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, delivering fluid scrolling, responsive interaction and an enhanced viewing experience for entertainment and everyday use. The device is equipped with a 50MP rear camera supported by a 2MP secondary lens, enabling detailed and versatile photography, while an 8MP front camera ensures clear and natural looking selfies and video calls.

AI powered imaging and smarter everyday photography

The OPPO A6 brings intelligent imaging features that enhance everyday photography with minimal effort. AI powered tools help refine images directly on the device, allowing users to enhance clarity, remove unwanted elements and improve overall image quality without needing additional software. These capabilities ensure that capturing and sharing moments remains simple, intuitive and consistently high quality.

Designed with a modern, durable aesthetic

Available in Aurora Gold and Sapphire Blue, the OPPO A6 combines durability with a sleek, contemporary design that reflects the A Series’ signature balance of style and practicality.

More value across the OPPO ecosystem

The OPPO A6 will be available with promotional bundle offers that may include OPPO audio wearables and smartwatches, depending on operator availability across Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C, providing users with more value and a connected experience across devices.

Pricing and availability

The OPPO A6 will be available nationwide at a recommended retail price of R8,999 prepaid, or from R399 per month over 36 months on contract through major network operators and participating retailers. Bundle offerings and availability may vary by operator.
