Under Armour is all in on running, pushing the limits with cutting-edge tech and athlete-driven designs to fuel performance. Firm believers in getting in the trenches with athletes, this year is no different as Under Armour is announced as 2024’s OUTsurance Gun Run technical sponsor, with the official OUTsurance Gun Run shoe being the Under Armour Infinite Elite.

An athletes aim for victory depends on more than just preparation and determination, it also relies on the technology on the soles of their feet. Over the last decade, there’s been a technological revolution in running, powered by shoe technology that can give runners a leg up and the ability to push the boundaries of the sporting battlefields.

Under Armour has made significant strides in the running market in recent years with state-of-the-art products that home in on the mass, cushioning and flexibility of the shoe to blend performance and technology to enhance the running experience. The official race day shoe – the UA Infinite Elites are designed for athletes who want to redefine their limits and achieve new goals. In a nutshell Under Armour’s mission is to make runners better, it backs athletes who have prowess and determination to be the best to beat the best.

The lowdown on the OUTsurance Gun Run:

Starting and finishing in Mouille Point, Cape Town, the Gun Run is an opportunity to shoot the lights out in pursuit of glory and your health. Taking place on the 14th and 15th of September, entrants can choose between the 21km half marathon, 17km trail run, 10km run/walk, a 5km fun run, and a 5km pet walk. Whichever you choose, having shoes that help you move with infinite ease is critical.

Under Armour, says, “Every athlete needs endurance and conditioning if they want to get to the next level. Building this means putting the work in all year round but it also needs the right gear. Our Infinite Elites are designed to help you run to win. You’ve just got to do the rest.”

The official shoe – Under Armour Infinite Elite:

Engineered with HOVR Plus technology in the midsole, the Infinite Elites are softer, lighter, and more resilient. The shoe’s warm knit upper is designed to support the heel and midfoot, as well as provide high breathability, keeping the athlete’s foot cool and efficient through every stride. Infinite Elites also come with built-in beaded foam on the top that is high in resilience and has great cushioning for heightened energy return. No matter your purpose, Under Armour Infinite Elites are perfect for both intense training sessions and competitive events.
