South African technology distributor Axiz has entered into a partnership with MBCOM Technologies, Broadcom’s sole distributor in the region, to distribute the full Broadcom software portfolio, in a move aimed at expanding access to Broadcom’s enterprise solutions and strengthening support for local channel partners.
The agreement brings together MBCOM’s structured regional channel programme and Axiz’s established distribution network in South Africa. Partners in the country will now be able to access Broadcom’s software suite, which includes Symantec, Carbon Black, Enterprise Software Solutions (former CA portfolio), Mainframe, and VMware solutions, under a more formalised and supportive framework.
“Broadcom’s software portfolio plays a significant role in enterprise IT, and this partnership gives our South African partners structured access to those solutions,” said xxxx at Axiz. “Our focus is on combining the technology with practical support – training, certifications, and local enablement – so that partners are equipped to deliver effective outcomes for customers in both the public and private sectors.”
At the centre of the partnership is a tiered model that categorises partners as Tier 1, Tier 2, or Registered, each with access to tailored benefits. These include:
presentations.
The model, already proven in other markets, has demonstrated tangible results with a year-on-year increase in revenue, and a 69% rise in partner certifications, with Tier 1 and 2 partners now contributing 83% of regional revenue.
MBCOM has described South Africa as a priority market in its regional rollout. “South Africa is a large market where we want to establish a strong foundation first,” said Robert Azar of MBCOM Technologies. “Our tiered partner strategy focuses on challengers—partners who actively promote our products—and this partnership with Axiz is about equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.”
Axiz, which has an extensive footprint across South Africa’s ICT channel, will be responsible for implementing the programme locally. Andries Lategan, CTO of MBCOM Technologies, said the partnership combines international experience with local execution: “MBCOM brings a structured and successful programme from Broadcom, and our role is to operationalise it for South African partners. The goal is to ensure they have the support, access and training needed to participate effectively in the channel.”
Beyond sales, the programme is designed to build long-term capability through training and enablement. By equipping partners with certifications and hands-on experience across Broadcom’s comprehensive solution portfolio, the initiative aims to strengthen local expertise under a single-vendor framework. This focus on skills development is expected to accelerate digital transformation initiatives across South African enterprises and government organisations.
As part of the rollout, Axiz and MBCOM will host regular webinars, enablement workshops and joint marketing campaigns to help partners build technical capability and close deals. The companies expect the initiative to create a more competitive and skilled partner ecosystem for Broadcom products in South Africa.
While the immediate focus is on South Africa, both companies indicated that the partnership could serve as a model for other African markets where enterprise demand for Broadcom solutions is growing.
