OPPO has officially launched the Reno14 5G in South Africa, a smartphone engineered to be the life of the party.

Priced at R19,999 and available from all leading operators, this device is crafted specifically for the nation’s dynamic nightlife, from pulsating music festivals and serene rooftop sundowners to spontaneous after-hours braais.

The company claims it combines AI-powered camera tech with staggering battery stamina, ensuring you capture and share every moment without missing a beat.

“The Reno14 5G reflects OPPO’s focus on relevance for South African consumers,” said Bradley Young, Head of Retail at OPPO. “It delivers real improvements in low-light imaging, battery endurance, and fast charging—features that matter in people’s daily lives. Positioned as the ultimate party phone, it’s also a device designed for every moment, from weekend celebrations to everyday productivity.”

Revolutionising After-Dark Photography

The company contends that the cornerstone of the Reno14 5G is its AI Flash Photography system, a game-changer for low-light environments.

Whether you’re in a dimly lit concert venue or on a bustling dance floor, the technology ensures bright, clear, and surprisingly natural-looking images, said OPPO.

The smartphone manufacturer added that the system leverages a powerful triple flash, including a dedicated focus flash for the telephoto camera, delivering brightness reported to be up to ten times stronger than the previous generation. “This eliminates the blur and noise that often plague nighttime mobile photos.”

Capture the Scene, Near and Far

Complementing its low-light prowess is a flagship 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. OPPO says this allows party-goers and travellers alike to capture crisp, detailed close-ups of friends across a crowded venue or wider, atmospheric shots of a cityscape at night without sacrificing an ounce of quality.

Power That Lasts All Night and Day

Understanding that a dead phone can end the party prematurely, OPPO equipped the Reno14 5G with a massive 6000mAh battery. Paired with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, this combination promises all-night stamina and beyond. A mere 10 minutes plugged in can provide hours of usage, ensuring you’re never disconnected from the action or the next day’s responsibilities.

Instant Sharing for the Social Generation

The experience doesn’t end with capture. The Reno14 5G is built for instant sharing. Features like Livephoto and the upgraded AI Editor 2.0 allow users to edit and polish their content in real-time. AI-enhanced tools automatically refine lighting and composition, with functions like AI Recompose and AI Perfect Shot enabling professional-grade results at the touch of a button, ready to be shared directly to social feeds.

A Statement Piece for Your Pocket

Beyond performance, the Reno14 5G makes a bold style statement with its industry-first Iridescent Mermaid finish, says OPPO. “This multi-layered design creates a shimmering, fluid effect that catches the light from every angle, transforming the phone into a fashion accessory as much as a technological tool.”

One can only conclude that with its unmatched low-light capabilities, tireless battery, and head-turning design, the OPPO Reno14 5G is poised to become the essential companion for South Africans who live life in full colour, day and night.
