Vodacom Business’s Mezzanine’s Connected Farmer platform, branded as eVuna, is revolutionising agriculture in Africa by digitally empowering small-scale farmers.

The platform connects farmers to vital resources – information, inputs, credit, and markets – boosting productivity and income.

In Kenya, the eVuna eVouchering programme has seen remarkable success, with over 6 million farmers registered and 3.5 million vouchers redeemed.

Farmers using eVuna have accessed more than $1 million in capital, leading to an 80% increase in yields and an additional $600 in revenue per farmer.

“eVuna plays a crucial role in linking the small-scale farming community to the people and resources they need to thrive. ,” says Videsha Proothveerajh, Director of Vodacom Business. “Over a hundred thousand East African farmers are part of the vibrant eVuna community, leveraging the platform to acquire skills, access inputs, and connect with profitable markets.”

Expanding Impact Across Africa

Mezzanine, a Vodacom Group subsidiary, operates as a tech start-up with the backing of Vodacom and Vodafone’s global scale.

Beyond Kenya, M-Kulima in Tanzania supports 3.2 million farmers, while Mezzanine’s Data Exchange platform continues to provide agribusinesses with tailored digital solutions.

With 100,000+ farmers actively engaged in East Africa, eVuna is proving that technology can drive real change in agriculture. As adoption grows, Vodacom Business Mezzanine remains committed to enabling productive African societies through digital transformation.

“These achievements underscore the platform’s effectiveness in supporting small-scale farmers and contributing to their success.” adds Proothveerajh.

With rising farmer participation and tangible economic benefits, Mezzanine’s Connected Farmer platform is set to expand further, emphasising Vodacom’s mission to digitize African agriculture for a sustainable future.
