MiWay Blink today introduced the newest member of its team. The new team member won’t be arriving at MiWay Blink HQ in a shiny new car and a fresh outfit but on the phone screens of its customers. That’s because it’s not a person, but a WhatsApp Chatbot.

“Our WhatsApp bot, Blinky looks to connect with users who may prefer chatting to a bot to get a quote for their car insurance, further extending our position as the brand that lets you have your car insurance in your pocket,” says Keletso Mpisane, Head of MiWay Blink.

The digitally-based motor insurer is leaning towards the use of automations to allow room for growth and transformation within the company, and to take the pain out of insurance.

The MiWay Blink Bot launched in February 2024 and, among other things, helps clients get quick insurance quotes on WhatsApp. It is just the latest example of MiWay Blink’s commitment to digital innovation. No more having to wait or be put on hold, the MiWay Blink Chatbot is quick and easy to use. In the blink of an eye, you will have your quote.

“This is another way that we’re committed to streamlining the insurance experience for our clients. Leveraging technology in a relevant and measurable way is central to how we approach every aspect of our business,” Mpisane adds.

Once the quote has been given, the bot will guide clients towards the official MiWay Blink app/website to finalise their cover. However, if a client still wants that human touch, they can contact a representative directly through the app/website who will assist them further.

The MiWay Blinky bot is flexible and can either assist you in a fully digital manner or point you in the direction of a person.

The MiWay Blink bot is accessible via the MiWay Blink website and all their social media platforms.
