In a move to further service its clients and to expand its reach, Durban accounting, and advisory firm Ngubane has re-established its operations in Johannesburg at a new location.  This decision follows the recent absorption of its resident directors and personnel in the city by an international firm.

As a proudly South African operation, Ngubane’s decision not to be absorbed by another firm guarantees its continued presence in Johannesburg and underscores the distinct advantages indigenous accounting firms have to offer.

The company says retaining it presence is not just about geographical coverage; it’s about providing enhanced efficiency, ensuring clients in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Northern Cape, Free State, and the North West provinces have seamless access to its services.

CEO Desmond Msomi continues to guide the firm, in collaboration with founder and chair Bhekabantu Wilfred Ngubane as counsel, says: “A significant aspect of our growth trajectory involves integrating cutting-edge technology, which will allow Ngubane offices outside Gauteng better connection in facilitating the delivery of a more tailored service.”

Rooted deeply in South Africa, Ngubane’s understanding of local business nuances, particularly in the public service sector differentiates it from its global peers. As one of the country’s few wholly black owned independent accounting firms, its unique perspective is both its strength and key value proposition.

Msomi emphasises the firm’s desire to collaborate with other financial services entities that can bolster their joint service portfolio.

Ngubane, a stalwart in the country’s accounting profession says the company ethos and vision is based on delivering an authentically South African service and advice. More than just business he adds, the ambition extends to nurturing the accounting discipline within South Africa, playing a pivotal role in catalysing economic growth.

“Our identity as a black-owned firm enhances our sensitivity and empathy towards the challenges of entering this profession,” adding that around 80% of their talent pool hails from townships and rural areas. This not only showcases their inclusivity but also lends them a first-hand perspective on challenges businesses in South Africa grapple with.”

With a legacy dating back to 1995, Ngubane’s commitment remains unflinching. He plans to play a hands-on role in supporting management in increasing and ensuring enduring relationships with clients, saying the firm’s foundational belief rests on nurturing lasting professional connections between the firm and clients.
