Running an e-commerce store takes dedication, hard work, and patience. If you are willing to commit to the idea, your e-commerce store will flourish. However, you must not forget your competitors. There are upsides and downsides to owning and operating an online store. One of the biggest downsides is the high level of competition.

Never forget your competitors because they are always looking for ways to improve and expand. With your biggest competitors in mind, you must ask yourself how in the world am I going to keep a competitive edge in the e-commerce world. Updating your e-commerce store with 3D rendering combined with great marketing strategies is key.

3D rendering has both photorealismand non-photorealism properties. It utilizes the conversion of three-dimensional models into two-dimensional images. Encompassing various artistic practices like drawing and painting, the technology is able to produce photorealistic two-dimensional images of various subjects, in this case, consumer products.

3D rendering comes into play at the beginning of the final 2D image creation process. Its success has been tested by some of the world’s top animators in the film industry.

Real-Life Results

Unlike some image creation software, 3D rendering does not alter the projected 3D model. Instead, it replicates the projected 3D model perfectly, so the finished product (2D image) is in real life.

There are several 3D rendering techniques – scanline, ray-tracing, wireframe, and radiosity – utilized in the modern world. Each of these 3D rendering methods has unique qualities. Some are more suitable for real-time effects while others are better for photorealistic effects. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve. In this case, you are trying to achieve life-like, high-quality, two-dimensional product images.

3D Rendering – Cost-Effective

The number one factor most e-commerce shop owners are concerned about is cost. There is no doubt, an e-commerce business can spend tens of thousands of dollars just to get their store established. On top of this, you have the daily operational cost, which can add up to a significant sum over time.

While many would love nothing more than to improve their e-commerce store with a 2D life-like product catalog, there is always the question of cost. Well, do not fret, 3D product rendering is actually cost-effective.

Unlike traditional still life photography, 3D rendering leaves nothing to be desired. What you hope to achieve from this rendering practice is 2D product images with photorealistic effects.

High-Resolution Still-Life 2D Images

As mentioned previously, there is a shortlist of 3D rendering software programs on the market. All of these work in a similar manner while rendering slightly different results. The concept is the same, just the end result is different. For example, one specific 3D rendering software generates interactive Virtual Reality (VR) objects, which are often utilized in VR game design.

In your case, the end product should nothing short of a high-resolution still product image.

Afterword

There is no end to the possibilities with 3D rendering. It currently has a broad range of applications. It is utilized in various industries with great success.
