MTN’s Payment Break will enable contract customers to take a subscription fee payment holiday during the frugal months of January and February. by Staff Writer

South Africa’s second biggest mobile phone announced on Monday the service, which will be available to customers who sign up on a new 24 month contract.

The service provide new customers with a subscription fee payment holiday.

Qualifying customers who sign-up in January 2017 will only start making payments towards their contracts subscription from March and those who sign-up in February 2017, will start their subscription payment in April.

“MTN is excited to launch Payment Break, which gives expression to our ongoing quest to provide customer-centric offers to our customers. As a caring organisation, MTN is cognisant of the financial crunch customers face particularly during this time of the year, hence this proposition which gives customers a breather and allows them to stay connected without having to worry about their monthly subscriptions,” says Larry Annetts, Chief Consumer Officer at MTN SA.

Customers can enquire about this offer at any MTN retail store, and the normal credit vetting process will be used to determine eligibility.

“We hope that these two months of payment holiday will provide our customers with the ability to recover from the festive season of spending, uphold their credit record and avoid getting into debt. This is one of the ways that MTN is working to make its customers’ lives a whole lot brighter,” says Annetts.
