Cell C on Friday revealed new mobile data rates that provide its subscribers with more data and lower prices.

South Africa’s third bigegst mobile phone operator has cut the price of its home and office broadband LTE offerings by up to 64%.

The telco, which is still in talks with Blue Telecom, reduced the cost of eight of its most popular data offers – six contract and two prepaid options – with discounts ranging between 33% and 64%.

On the prepaid side, Cell C will be offering its popular 100GB data deal, which is valid for 1 year for R999 once-off, down 60% from its normal R2499 price.

At the lower end of its product spectrum, Cell C has reduced the cost of its SmartData 5GB product, offering 5GB anytime data and 15GB Nite data inclusive of a Huawei E5573 LTE MiFi device, making data more affordable to new data entrants, from R199 per month to only R99 per month.

At the top end the SmartData 100GB deal, which offers 100GB anytime data and 100GB Nite data has been reduced to R999 per month, down 64% from R2799 per month.

“The demand for well-priced, high-speed broadband offers are ever increasing and Cell C has taken a knife to some of its most popular broadband offerings to offer customers exceptional value for money,” says Cell CEO, Jose Dos Santos.

“We realise that with LTE, customers can now download faster and require more data due to the high adoption of content streaming services and video on demand.  With this in mind we are now offering customers the benefit of great value at rock bottom prices to change their homes.”

Current deals available on promotion until 31 May 2016 from any Cell C store and participating dealer:

Cell C is trying hard to be relevant; they ended up convincing me. I have their SIM card and they are cheap provided I am at home in Kempton Park. However, when I go home to Modimolle, Cell C is no where to be fopund – network is very weak.

Cell is really putting Vodacom and MTN to shame with these data rates. To buy a once of data at R1000 worth 100GB, and MTN still sells 1GB For R160, it’s a joke to say the least.

Does anyone know if this 100 Gig prepaid data for R999 is still available at cell c stores.I spend R600 for 10 Gig data every month since due the work that I do and sometimes I have to add more data before month end.I would also like to know if this last for 12 month or expires after 30 days. This blog is really interesting.Thank you guys for sharing.

  7. Be caraful with cell c. I bought two contracts with them, one is a smartdata contract, and they are not honouring their agreement and every month these is an excuse why i cant get the full data i signed for.
