Microsoft has launched its official online store in South Africa, enabling South African customers to purchase any product from the company’s ecosystem of devices through the local Microsoft online store, www.microsoftstore.co.za.
The Microsoft online store boasts a broad assortment of original branded goods ranging from Lumia smartphones to Xbox consoles. In addition, the store features products from Microsoft’s partners to provide customers with even more choice whilst they are shopping for the perfect PC, tablet, game or smartphone to suit their needs and budget.
“The explosion of social and mobile technology has ignited ‘the era of the smart shopper’ where consumer purchase decisions are determined through online product and service content and reviews. We are also finding that more and more local consumers look to benefit from the convenience afforded to them from secure online shopping and free delivery, which they can find in the Microsoft online store” says Zoaib Hoosen, MD of Microsoft South Africa.
The Microsoft online store in South Africa will act as a one-stop shop for all Xbox, Lumia and Windows related products from Microsoft as well as its partners.

Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones
The firm also introduced its new Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are the first Lumia phones to come pre-loaded with Windows 10 – delivering on Microsoft’s promise of one familiar and consistent experience that transitions seamlessly across Windows devices from key apps like Office built-in to access to all your stuff via OneDrive and the cloud.
“Photographers and videographers will also love the Lumia 950 and 950 XL thanks to both features the latest-generation PureView cameras with 20-megapixel sensors, triple LED natural flash and 4K video capture capability. All of this technology equates to faster focus, crisper images and enhances videos even when snapping shots or recording video within challenging conditions like low lighting situations,” said the company.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are locally available for a recommended retail price of R10,548 for the Lumia 950 and R11,499 for the Lumia 950 XL.
