The Video-on-Demand (VoD) platform owned by MTN South Africa, MTN FrontRow, is to be rebranded into VU and pronounced “view you” from today, 1 December 2015. The platform is also slashing its prices to retain and entice more customers. By Gugu Lourie

VU, previously known as MTN FrontRow, is VoD service that offers TV series, music and movies to stream through your smart devices.

It is available to users on all networks.

“We want to share our exciting news with you. We’re making big changes and we want you, our valued MTNFrontrow user, to be the first to know. From December 1 2015, MTN FrontRow will be known as VU,” said MTN FrontRow or VU in an email to its customers.

So what’s new?

VU says customers wanted to rent more blockbuster entertainment at their leisure, “so we’ve created PremiereVU, just for you. We’ve worked hard to make sure you get the best choice of titles from Hollywood’s top studios from just R15 per movie”.

The VoD platform said on its website it will continue to bring customers the cinema and television greats with MaxVU, its monthly subscription service, for just R99 per month.

Data consumed white streaming VU is still zer0-rated on the MTN network.

Monthly subscriptions are deducted by Discover Digital, who is the merchant mandated by MTN to collect monies for the VU services on its behalf.
