MTN Business SA has appointed an industry veteran, Mariana Kruger, as General Manager of Private Sector. Kruger’s appointment comes on the backdrop of MTN Business’ ambitions of aggressively growing its market share in the enterprise space and venturing into new markets.

Kruger is a seasoned professional who has a wealth of experience in the ICT space. She started her career at IBM as a junior Systems Engineer in 1988 working in the mainframe environment. She later moved into the Systems Management Consulting, Project Management and Business Unit Leadership space.

In her different roles, Kruger worked with clients in Africa and the Middle East, taking responsibility for signings, revenue and profit for the region including growth initiatives for data centres and Work Area Recovery.

Before being appointed to the current role, Kruger ran the Infrastructure Services Division in IBM SA.  Alpheus Mangale, Chief Enterprise Officer: MTN Business SA, says Kruger expertise will complement the existing skills set at MTN Business.

“Kruger expertise will bode well for MTN Business SA. Her crucial skills and experience will provide the building blocks upon which we can built on as we pursue our strategic objectives of making inroads in unchartered markets,” says Mangale.

The appointment of Kruger follows a string of high level appointments by MTN Business earlier this year. The enterprise unit appointed Mandisa Ntloko as the Head of Marketing, Claude Chetty as General Manager for the SME segment, David Mphelo as General Manager for Public Sector and Delwin Bratby as the new General Manager for Client Services.

“We have a solid strategy in place of being the Information Communications and Technology partner of choice for geographic and market expansion and we believe that these appointments will propel us closer to achieving our strategic objectives,” Mangale concludes.

Kruger holds a BSc Chemistry & Computer Science degree and is a Certified IBM Project Executive.
