In a world rapidly transitioning to an intelligent economy, Huawei is at the forefront of the digital transformation revolution.
Speaking at the Huawei Industrial Digital and Intelligent Transformation Summit 2024 during GITEX Global in Dubai, Li Peng, Corporate Senior Vice President and President of ICT Sales & Service, outlined the company’s vision for an AI-driven future that empowers enterprises globally.
“The digital economy is evolving into an intelligent economy, and it will soon become the main engine of global economic growth,” Li Peng declared as he addressed a diverse audience of global partners and customers at the Conrad Dubai.
With an emphasis on innovation, he emphasised Huawei’s commitment to collaborating with companies worldwide to build the infrastructure and capabilities needed to thrive in this new era.
Peng highlighted how companies are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT technologies to enhance their operations, particularly in traditional industries like manufacturing.
“Manufacturers are collecting more data than ever before, paving the way for real-time intelligence and operational efficiency,” Peng said.
The result is not only improved productivity but also new business models that are reshaping industries.
One of the success stories he cited was Huawei’s partnership with BCX in South Africa. BCX is owned by JSE-listed telecommunications group Telkom.
Together, they built a cloud management platform that caters to over 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
“This flexible cloud model helps SMEs lease or buy network services, solving their O&M challenges and reducing CAPEX by over 20%,” Peng explained, emphasising how Huawei’s solutions enable local businesses to grow and innovate.
The collaboration with BCX exemplifies Huawei’s broader strategy of supporting regional partners in building local service capabilities and infrastructure. This approach has yielded significant results across various industries, from transportation in Cote d’Ivoire to service solutions in the Middle East.
At the core of Huawei’s mission is a commitment to fostering an open and mutually beneficial partner ecosystem.
“Our partnerships have grown by more than 18% this year alone,” Peng stated, highlighting the establishment of 14 OpenLabs globally. These labs encourage joint innovation with local solution providers and aim to deliver market-specific solutions.
Beyond infrastructure, Huawei is equally focused on talent development, recognising that skilled individuals are critical to advancing digital transformation. In collaboration with universities, the company has trained tens of thousands of ICT engineers and developers globally.
“Digital and intelligent transformation should not be a privilege for the few. It should be a benefit for all,” Peng concluded, reaffirming Huawei’s dedication to inclusivity and opportunity in the digital age.
With its strong partner network and innovative technologies, Huawei is poised to drive intelligent transformation on a global scale, unlocking growth for businesses of all sizes.
“Together, we can create more, do more, and seize the opportunities of this exciting new era,” Peng said, calling for continued collaboration between partners and industries.
