Momentum Metropolitan Holdings has promoted Ravikumaran Govender as Group Chief Digital and Technology Officer (CDTO), effective 1 January 2024. He makes the move from his current role as Momentum Metropolitan Group Digital Transformation Executive.

With over 15 years of service in the financial services and consulting industries, Govender presents an impressive scope of experience and innovative thinking applicable to his new role.

His focus will be on making sure all the Group’s digital activities and innovations are aligned with market needs and opportunities, while making sure the operations are in sync across all businesses in the Group.

Govender holds various leadership and management qualifications including a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Cape Town and an MSc Degree in Management from the University of Edinburgh. He is also a Certified Retail banker.

“I am pleased to welcome Ravi to the Momentum Metropolitan Group Executive Committee and into his new role.  His credentials and vision are perfectly in line with our expectations for digital excellence and improving our stakeholders’ experience of doing business with us,” says Jeanette Marais, Group CEO of Momentum Metropolitan.

” Our Group has had a market-leading focus on investing in and partnering with international Fintech startups to benefit our clients through leading technology solutions. This has started to yield results such as our application of biometrics in our Myriad LifeReturns offering. Our commitment to applicable digital and technology innovation will continue to be a high priority for us as a Group and will be a priority area of focus for Ravi.”

“I am excited that one of our own employees proved to be the right candidate for the role.  Promoting from within gives us the opportunity to make sure that his approach to leadership and business align well to our culture. It also reaffirms our commitment to developing our own people”.
