Given South Africa’s economic capability compared to many other foreign territories in this part of the world, there are a number of emerging tech startups that continue to showcase their immense potential.

With strong VC funding helping to fuel South African businesses and breathe life into startups with big plans, there are some fascinating businesses throughout the country. This lucrative area of business is even being backed by government agencies, while a number of leading business professionals are also having their say on these technology-based companies.

South African audiences are certainly embracing technology in the modern world anyway. People stream live sporting events on their tablet devices, they’re regularly looking at options like this 20Bet Casino review and bonus codes before diving in for a casino gaming session on a mobile phone, and they’re embracing cryptocurrencies and other options like NFTs while using computers to follow various forecasts.

With all things considered, it’s therefore entirely understandable that South Africa’s tech offering is continuing to expand given the public’s receptiveness to more technology-based offerings. So, with that in mind, let’s look at a number of exciting tech startups that are showing clear potential in South Africa right now.

Adumo has been going strong since 2019

One of the younger companies on the list, Adumo’s mission is an admirable one. Founded by Paul Kent in 2019, the Bryanston-based startup works in the FinTech market as it aims to produce a better financial ecosystem throughout the whole of South Africa. In order to do this, the company has developed a clever way for consumers and businesses alike to process any payments and run a smoother and more efficient service in the process. Adumo is already a name many leading business professionals in the country are fully aware of, making this growing company one to keep tabs on in 2023 and beyond.

Naked Insurance uses AI to reduce charges to customers

A company that has been thriving since 2016, Johannesburg-based Naked Insurance was founded by Alex Thomson and Sumarie Greybe. The startup evidently has huge aims for the future, with its AI technology capable of finding the best quotes for a selection of insurance products. Taking just 90 seconds to generate the most affordable quote possible for customers chasing the best deal, Naked Insurance even managed to raise startup funding of $17 million this year.

Sendmarc specialises in cyber security

Founded in 2018 by Keith Thompson, Sacha Matulovich, and Sam Hutchinson, Sendmarc specialises in cyber security. An alarmingly common issue in today’s internet-based world, the Gauteng-based startup works in the cybersecurity industry to bring better services to combat familiar methods of attack, such as phishing and a range of other common tactics online criminals employ. With several rave reviews in the business world and the support of nine dedicated investors who believe in the company’s vision, Sendmarc is a startup with a seemingly bright future.

Special mention must also go to Carry1st, KAS Africa, Dragonfly Aerospace, OfferZen, NFTfi, Porcupine Union, and Ukheshe Technologies.
