Viu South Africa has teamed up with Vodacom to offer customers Viu Premium subscription with Vodacom video data bundles. When signing up for Viu, subscribers will get the Viu Premium subscription plus mobile data at no additional cost, to easily binge-watch Viu content, creating a care-free experience on the go.

Viu Daily Premium subscription starts from as little as R5 a day and is bundled with a free 250MB daily recurring video data bundle. The Viu Monthly Premium subscription is R69 per month and it comes with a free 3GB monthly recurring video data bundle.

In addition, Viu Premium subscribers have access to a wide variety of local and exclusive international premium content from NBC Universal such as Wolfe, That Damn Michael Che and Girls5Eva as well as Hollywood blockbuster favourites like Central Intelligence, Blakklansman and Mamma Mia. Subscribers can also enjoy a full catalogue of South Africa’s local soapies and dramas such as Uzalo, Skeem Saam, Imbewu and 7de Laan.

Rohit D’silva, Chief Business Officer in Middle East and South Africa at Viu, said: “We are committed to offering our consumers great content, value and convenience at Viu. The collaboration with Vodacom makes streaming more affordable for Viu-ers during these tough economic times. Our subscribers can stream Viu Premium whenever and wherever using this exclusive Vodacom video data deal, at the price point that suits their pocket.”

Mariam Cassim, Chief Executive Officer of Vodacom Financial Services, said: “Vodacom’s digital and lifestyle services product suite aims to offer subscribers bite-size entertainment experience on the go, and the partnership with Viu is squarely aligned to that. We remain committed to leaving no one behind as we transition into a technology company. Providing converged offers such as entertainment coupled with mobile data, is a prime example of what we do to simplify our customers’ everyday lifestyle needs.”

Vodacom postpaid customers can pay for their Viu Premium subscription by adding it to their Vodacom account, whereas prepaid customers can deduct the subscription fees from their airtime balance.
