Smartphones have replaced our cameras, notepads, and music playing devices. Now they’re on the verge of replacing our wallets as well.

Payment methods have largely gone digital, accommodating their services to the increasing number of phone users who wanted to pay on the go without actually carrying credit cards or paper money.

Advantages of Mobile Payment Options

The apps presented below are used for various purposes, including sending and receiving money, making online purchases, and more. There are various advantages of mobile payment options when compared to other methods.

The first one is that they help you improve your security as you avoid entering your credit card information by using them.

Moreover, there are sites that do not support payment methods that you use. Therefore, installing one of the mobile apps would probably solve this problem.

Finally, some payment methods do not support certain types of payment, such as making deposits and withdrawals at online betting sites. In that case, you can also choose one of the supported apps from the list below as a possible alternative.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the most popular and reliable ones!

Apple Pay

If you are an Apple device user, you have probably already managed to test out this app. Being a part of Apple’s offer, this piece of software works very well on all mobile devices made by this company. You can even use it on your Apple watch and combine it with Siri in order to get a hands-free experience while making transactions.

Moreover, Apple users can connect up to 12 cards, as Apple Pay is compatible with the majority of US-issued credit and debit cards. The balance limit is set to $20,000 and the app takes no additional fees. The downside to this payment method is that it is not available in all countries.

Google Pay

Installed by almost 100 million users, this app is Google’s response to Apple Pay. The app can be connected to several types of credit cards, as well as to a personal bank account (however, transferring money directly to your bank account usually takes a couple of days to be processed).

You can download the app on Google Play for all Android devices, and it is also available for Apple users who can download it from the App Store and use it on all iOS devices that run on 9.0 or later software versions.

The app doesn’t charge any transaction fees and it allows users to send up to $10,000 per week. Moreover, the maximum possible amount you can send via one transaction is set to $9,999.

Google Pay is usually used for online purchases. Google products and in-app purchases are the most common types of products that people usually buy with this method.

PayPal One Touch

PayPal is highly regarded as one of the best payment methods around, as it was the first of its kind. It’s no wonder that the company decided to go mobile, creating an app that many people regard as the best online payment method for mobile phones.

Apart from low fees and amazing functionality, this app is available across a wide variety of devices, mainly iOS and Android ones. You can obtain it by downloading it from App Store and Google Play for free.

The app applies some fees which are not that high if you send funds to your friends or family. The fees are a bit higher for official transactions, but they are still some of the lowest you will find on the web.

You can send up to $5,000 in a single transaction, and the monthly limit is set to $15,000. Moreover, Paypal allows you to connect your bank account if you are in the US or a credit card of your choice if you live in another country.

Venmo

Venmo is another popular payment option for mobile phones that allows you to buy things at approved online merchants. Moreover, you can use it to send and receive payments from your family or friends with minimum to non-existing fees. This payment method is available for both iOS and Android devices, and you can download the app on Google Play and App Store.

When it comes to payment limits, if your account is not verified, you will be able to use only $299.99 weekly. However, once you confirm your identity, the weekly limit will increase to $2,999.99.

Conclusion

In a couple of years, mobile phones will probably become the ultimate payment method. We won’t need credit cards, e-Wallets or anything similar in order to make purchases or send and receive payments. It’s up to you to choose which option seems best for you at the moment and enjoy making money transactions on the go.
