King Goodwill Zwelithini has partnered with JR Capital, and a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) to launch a new mobile network in South Africa.
The new network is known as the “Bayede Mobile“.
The vision of Bayede Mobile is to enable communities to connect easily at reasonable rates, empowering a generation of South Africans navigating the technological era, where connecting to friends, family and information can be accessed by all.
Bayede Mobile will help reach those with little to no access to basic mobile infrastructure at an excellent rate, said the company.
The company said in a statement that Bayede Mobile will be strategically positioned to leverage existing infrastructure of some of South Africa’s biggest mobile networks, thereby bringing reliable connectivity, at an affordable flat rate.
“I want to be part of a movement that helps provide an affordable solution for the poor and marginalized in their use of technology, allowing them the opportunity to connect and empower themselves,” said King Goodwill Zwelithini.
The network is expected to launch in mid-2019.
Information regarding the launch of Bayede Mobile or pricing is currently unavailable.
