SITA ICT Bursaries Up For Grabs

The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) is offering  280 free bursaries to students in 2019, to the value of R124, 400 per student.

The bursary is targeting qualifying South African youth currently pursuing studies in ICT at any recognised South African tertiary institution.

The bursaries will be awarded to students for tertiary studies in the following fields of study:

  • Information Technology (Engineering; Computer Science; Engineering and Data Analytics; Robotics, etc.);
  • Applied Sciences (Environmental Science; Biotechnology, etc.)
  • Any other non-technology and non-science studies (such as Agriculture, Social Studies) where the core subjects are enhanced with technology studies to empower students with the ability to analyse and solve social and economic issues more effectively using Fourth Industrial Revolution methodologies and technologies.

The SITA Bursary Scheme will cover the following costs:

  • Tuition Fees;
  • Prescribed Study Material;
  • Meal Allowance;
  • Accommodation; and
  • Transport.
