Multichoice announced on Monday that two new apps have been released for viewing DStv Now on big-screen TVs.
The new apps are for Xbox gaming consoles and Hisense smart TVs.
Multichoice said an increasing number of DStv customers are opting to use DStv Now apps for big-screen TVs as a simple and convenient way to watch DStv on additional TVs around the house.
DStv Now is an online service available free to DStv customers.
Usage of DStv Now, the online DStv service available free to DStv customers, is increasing rapidly with more than two million plays of live and Catch Up content per week.
In addition to using DStv Now to watch TV on tablets and smartphones, an increasing number of DStv customers are also opting to use DStv Now as their primary method of getting DStv on additional TVs in the house.
“This is set to increase with the release of two new big-screen TV apps, one for Xbox gaming consoles (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X) and another for Hisense smart TVs (2018 and newer models),” said MultiChoice.
“The simplest way to get DStv on additional TVs around the house is to use one of our dedicated smart TV or media player apps. With an uncapped internet connection there’s no additional cost, and with Wi-Fi, there’s no need to run any additional cables,” said Graeme Cumming, head of product for DStv Now, said.
“It really is as straightforward as downloading the app, following the login steps, and start watching.”
The following apps are now available for watching DStv Now on big-screen TVs:
- Xbox gaming consoles (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X)
- Hisense smart TVs (selected models from 2018 onwards)
- Samsung smart TVs (selected models from 2015 onwards)
- LG smart TVs (models running webOS 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0)
- Apple TV (4th generation and newer)
- Media players running Android TV (Google-certified devices only).
