The Asus Zenbook UX331 is a portable laptop or ultrabook.
This compact laptop is designed for individuals, who are always on the go.
This budget laptop is just 13.9mm thin and 1.12kg light, with a slim-bezel NanoEdge display that makes it much more compact than a typical 13-inch laptop.
This super-light chassis makes the Asus Zenbook UX331 one of the slimmest laptops in the world.
It is thin and lightweight, but this machine is still a horsepower.
Though, we still maintain that the Acer’s Swift 7 remains the slimmest laptop in the world we had a chance to review (See the review). Acer Swift 7 Review: Is this the Most Portable Laptop in the World
I think this laptop when it comes to size could be compared to Huawei MateBook X Pro.
It also makes a powerful style statement with its luxurious crystal-like gloss coating created using a high-tech nano-imprinted lithography process.
With its astonishing 4K UHD resolution, the NanoEdge display on Asus Zenbook UX331 gives you pin-sharp text and incredibly realistic imagery. Whether you’re watching movies, or just kicking back with a game, Asus Zenbook UX331 is a treat for your eyes.
It complements its style with iconic Zen-inspired spun-metal finish.
For a person on the go, Asus has created a fingerprint sensor to enable you to swiftly unlock the Asus Zenbook UX331.
This is really a budget laptop for a professional on the go.
It is a laptop for those who are constantly on the move, especially like me who are always writing.
Remember (there’s no great laptop) but this machine packs enough power and being slim and light makes it an ideal device for professionals on the move.
The Asus Zenbook UX331 is a stunning machine with a solid performance.
I must state that performance-wise, the Asus Zenbook UX331 does not disappoint when running day-to-day tasks like streaming, gaming, playing music with multiple tabs.
My son was disappointed with Asus Zenbook UX331 battery life as the battery was getting drained quickly. He was dabbing between playing games, watching Netflix, Kodi, YouTube For Kids and DStv Catch Up. He didn’t have to worry about the ultrabook overheating despite watching Netflix, playing computer games (Overwatch and Fortnite) and streaming HD videos on YouTube.
That’s said, he was impressed with Asus Zenbook UX331 fingerprint sensor and Window Hello.
Windows Hello is a security system designed by Microsoft that uses biometrics to log you into your Windows 10 laptop. To take advantage of facial recognition, your device needs a special kind of camera that can scan your face, so not all laptops with webcams are compatible.
However, most fingerprint readers, when given the right drivers, are compatible with Windows Hello.
The fingerprint sensor makes it easy to access the laptop safely while on the go.
This machine didn’t disappoint on audio experience.
The Asus Zenbook UX331 speakers did a great job. When I listened to King Monada’s hit song Malwedhe, which means “illness” in the Bolobedu dialect of the Sepedi language, the sound experience was amazing. It was like listening to music on awesome and famous Harman Kardon speakers.
Asus has managed to cram high specs on this slim machine.
This device is powered by the eight-generation Intel Core i7 processor, which could be boosted to 3.7GHz. The machine has a 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA GForce MX10 discreet graphics chip. It has storage up to 1TB.
I dislike that there are only limited ports in the Asus Zenbook UX331.
The Asus Zenbook UX331, which looks like a premium laptop, competes directly with the stunning Acer Swift 5 and Huawei MateBook X Pro.
The Asus Zenbook UX331strikes the right balance for me, it’s slim, and light and designed for individuals like me, who are always on the go.
This ultrabook is lighter, decently powerful, and cheap enough laptop to work with while on the go.
It is a nice laptop to buy yourself or a loved one this festive season as a gift.
All in all, it is a fantastic ultrabook.
It is a classy laptop for mobile professionals.
