The CEO of 4Sight Holdings – a tech firm that seeks to enable people to make decisions in the digital economy to better the quality of their being, business, and societies – will assume the role of chief digital officer.

Antonie van Rensburg appointment to the new role is effective 31 December 2018.

The JSE-listed company said the decision comes amid greater-than-expected demand for industry 4.0 solutions, as it will enable Van Rensburg to focus on and drive the group’s digital transformation strategy.

“Our work in the market over the last 17 months has revealed robust demand for industry 4.0 skills and expertise as customers realise the power of digital transformation,” Van Rensburg said.

“I will, therefore, focus on expanding our digital solution capabilities and will drive these initiatives forward to meet customer requirements across the company’s three industry-specific business sectors.”

4Sight’s current Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jacques Hattingh, will assume the day-to-day operational duties and responsibilities of the CEO role, until the board completes its task of identifying and appointing a suitable successor, in line with the group’s international growth strategy. Van Rensburg remains on the board in a joint-CEO capacity until the end of 2018 to ensure continuity.

Van Rensburg has led the company since its incorporation on 28 June 2017 and oversaw a critical period of robust acquisition-fuelled growth that drove the group’s expansion, including its listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Altx board in October 2017.

“The board of directors and management team would like to thank Antonie for his valuable contribution and his dedication to the business in his role as group CEO over the past 17 months,” comments Hattingh. “His leadership and vision has been instrumental in helping the business achieve its strategic ambitions.”

“Expanding the business has been a challenge I’ve revelled in. The business is now in a strong position and ready for a new phase of international growth. I will assist with the smooth transition to my permanent replacement, and I look forward to focusing on my new role as 4Sight’s CDO, where I will lead the company’s digital transformation initiatives,” said Van Rensburg.

Three months ago, 4Sight announced it was expanding its business into the USA, Canada and Mexico.

It said its subsidiary Digitata Networks (DNSA), has established a new business Digitata Networks Corporation (DNC) based in Delaware, USA.

The company said the new entity will be used to expand Digitata Networks business into North America’s including USA, Canada, and Mexico.
