The Acer Swift 7 is a stylish and portable workhorse.
The device is powered by the seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor that is backed by 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid-state drive.
This amazingly light weight machine could accommodate apps and games downloads, plus using it to stream content and videos online while connected to the Internet through reliable Telkom’s ADSL network.
At .39 inch, the Acer Swift 7 could be the skinniest laptop in the world. It is also thinner than the latest Apple MacBook.
The Acer Swift 7, which is thinner than some of the latest smartphones, doesn’t come cheap.

I had a chance to spend a few weeks with this expensive machine and I was impressed by its sleek design and attractive aluminium chassis.
I fell in love with the gold inner surface and a matte black aluminium exterior that both convey a modernistic sense of flair for this thinnest machine.
The rounded corners and chamfered edges around the touchpad add just the right touch of depth to its sleek design.
When it comes to battery life, this laptop didn’t disappoint as we overworked it. The battery during our test lasted for only between 8 and 9 hours. I could stream content using Telkom’s Lit set-top box and watch Netflix without worrying about recharging the device.
My son was also able to indulge in computer games for hours without a recharge. He could also watch YouTube clips of his favourite soccer players – Ronaldo and Messi – for 8 hours without a need to recharge.
What’s more exciting is that the content was streamed on the 13.3-inch Full-HD display with IPS technology, which enables the colours to stay true no matter what angle you’re viewing from.
All the movies and YouTube clips were clean and crisp on the 13.3-inch screen.
However, I was disappointed that this expensive laptop has two USB Type-C ports (one reserved for charging purposes), a nanoSIM card slot and a headphone jack. Therefore, I couldn’t connect an array of peripherals on the ports. Furthermore, the Swift 7 doesn’t accommodate HDMI and Ethernet.
That said, this is an impressive device that looks very classy but the steep price makes it pricey for many people.
It is a cool gadget to own if you can afford it. You will not be disappointed in owning one.
